You Already Know Something Is Wrong

It probably isn't your curriculum.

Learning Well at Home is a community built around one idea: everything is interesting.
If it isn't, you probably don't know how to look.

What is Notice, Wonder, Discover

Notice, Wonder, Discover is a framework for learning how to learn.

Most education uses memory and skips straight to expression. NWD starts with gathering and doesn't rush it

It builds three things: the ability to gather accurate information, the ability to make sense of what you've gathered, and the ability to use it — to express ideas, to ask better questions, to orient wisely in the world.

Learning Well at Home is a community built around practicing all three together: across ages, across subjects, and with people who care about growing humans capable of living wisely and well.

The NWD Orientation Course

The NWD Orientation Course is where you begin.

Two of our parents said it better than we could:

It is the foundation — everything you need to understand what Notice, Wonder, Discover is and how to practice it. Not a course about curriculum. A course about how children actually learn, and how to see the child that is in front of you.

"It is the information I needed years ago to teach the actual child sitting in front of me."
— Holli Coats

"I was going through the NWD course material at my mom's. She said, 'This would have been so helpful if I'd had this when you were young.'"
 — Stacy Armstrong

It's free. It's yours. It's where everyone in this community starts.

Is this for you?

This community is for you if you believe that education is formation — slow, real, and worth the time it takes.

It is for you if you are willing to start at the beginning, take the Orientation seriously, and let it change the way you see.

It is for you if you care as much about your own learning as your child's — because NWD reforms both.

This is not the right place if you are looking for a quick fix. It is not a done-for-you solution. It is not a shortcut.

But if you are interested in the slow formation of a wise child — and in reforming your own learning and orientation along the way — you have come to the right place.

About Sonya Post

I built Learning Well at Home out of frustration.

My oldest was frustrated and angry with me. I thought we had a math problem. We didn't. We had a me problem. I didn't know how to teach the child in front of me.

Notice, Wonder, Discover is what I found when I went looking for a better way. It changed how I teach. It changed how I see. It eventually changed everything.

I've been teaching and developing curriculum inside this framework for over a decade — in live classes, in courses, and now in this community.

I built the thing I needed. I'm giving it away because you need it too.

You already know something is wrong.

Now you know what to do about it.
